About Me

I’m a researcher and science communicator whose work lives at the intersection of genomics, biodiversity, and storytelling. My background blends scientific depth with creative clarity, shaped by years of academic research—including my postdoctoral and research associate work in the Seymour Lab in Sydney, Australia—where I explored the hidden dynamics of marine microbiomes and microbial ecology. I also served as Communications Director for the Earth BioGenome Project, where I more than tripled the organization’s following across four platforms, revitalized and maintained the EBP website, and served as the primary author of the EBP Life newsletter. During this time, I strengthened the project’s global communication strategy and increased social media engagement by more than 500% in a single year.

At my core, I’m a connector. I move fluidly between research, narrative, and collaboration, weaving together scientific insight and human storytelling to help teams see the larger arc of their work. My voice is warm, steady, and celebratory—and I bring that same energy to every project I take on.

I hold a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Alberta, Canada. My M.Sc. and earlier research focused on the microbial consortia of sub-glacial lakes in the southwest Yukon and the perennially ice-covered lakes of the Antarctic Dry Valleys, grounding my communication work in a deep understanding of Earth’s most extreme ecosystems.
